Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Cascade Pet Camp different from other boarding facilities?
Cascade Pet Camp was designed and built specifically for your dog's or cat's well-being, comfort & safety. Our emphasis on exercise and personalized care ensures your pet will have a stress free, enjoyable camp experience.

Do you board pets other than dogs & cats?
We have had ferrets, sugar gliders and even a goldfish attend camp. For safety reasons, most exotic pets need to be boarded in our private cabins. Please contact us for more information and rates.

How much does it cost to board my pet?
The cost to board your pet depends on accommodation type, additional services and the length of stay. Please see our rates page for more information.

How do you charge for boarding? Do you have a minimum stay?
We charge by the calendar day. On the day your pet arrives, you will only be charged for 1/2 day if you check in after 3pm. On the day your pet leaves, you will only be charged for 1/2 day if you check out before noon. There is a minimum two (2) day charge on the weekends and a three (3) day charge over holidays.

How far in advance do I have to make a reservation?
We recommend that all reservations be made at least a week in advance, although we can usually accommodate campers with shorter notice. For holidays, we recommend at least 2-3 months in advance to ensure availability.

What are your hours?
Monday - Friday 8am - noon and 3-6 pm - our office is closed from noon-3pm. Saturdays 9am - noon. Sundays 4-7pm. Hours vary on holidays and holiday weekends, please call our office for more information.

What if I need to pick-up or drop-off my pet outside of your regular office hours?
With the exception of holidays when our office is completely closed, appointments can usually be scheduled for service outside of our regular hours. Please contact us with your requests. Additional fees apply for all after hour services.

What vaccinations will my pet need?
All dogs need to be current on their rabies, Bordetella, and DHLPP vaccinations. Cats need to be current on their FVRCP & FeLV vaccinations. We strongly recommend that all vaccinations be updated at least seven (7) days prior to your pets’ arrival.

My pet had an adverse reaction to a previous vaccine and my veterinarian says he should not be vaccinated again; can I still board my pet?
We will make exceptions to our vaccination policy on a case by case basis upon the written recommendation of your veterinarian.

Should I bring my own pet food and snacks?
We feed either our dry food (ProPlan) or the food you provide up to three (3) times per day at no extra charge. For pets with sensitive stomachs, we strongly recommend that you provide the food your pet is used to eating at home. Please bring just enough food for your pet’s stay in plastic bags. Leftover food is not returned; it is donated to a local shelter. Cascade Pet Camp provides a biscuit just before bedtime for all campers. Due to choking hazard, we can no longer allow rawhide treats or "greenies" from home. For your convenience we offer Comfort Time stuffed Kongs(tm) and Raw Bison Bones as special treats for a small additional charge.

My pet needs medications; can you administer them?
Oral and injectable medications can be administered during your pet's stay for no extra charge. All medications must be in the original labeled containers. Do not package medications in with your pet's food.

Should I bring my pet's own bedding?
We provide appropriate bedding for all of our campers. If you prefer to bring your pet's own bedding, please be sure it is clean on arrival and clearly marked with your name. The cover and lining must be 100% machine washable and able to withstand daily washings as part of our housekeeping procedures.

Can I bring my dog's favorite toys?
You may bring a couple of your dog's favorite toys. Please be sure any toys are clearly marked with your dog's name. Toys should be at least 2" in all dimensions so they don't get accidentally pushed into the drains. Although we do our best to keep track of them, toys do occasionally get misplaced so please don’t send any family keepsakes to camp.

Is my dog eligible for playgroup?
In order to participate in playgroups, dogs must be social with other dogs and those over 7 month of age must be spayed or neutered. If your dog shows unfriendly behavior towards other dogs, they will not be able to participate in playgroups. To accommodate these campers, we offer individual play or exercise for an additional fee.

How do you determine which dogs will do well together in playgroup?
Our playgroups are determined by a dog's individual needs and personality. Important factors are age, size, weight, temperament and play-style. We use your pet's profile and ongoing observation to match them with other campers and ensure that everyone is enjoying playgroup.

How many times a day does my dog get outside?
All dogs get taken out into individual potty runs at 7am. They are out again for their playgroups, once in the late morning and once in the afternoon. Final potty break is between 7 and 8pm.

My dog doesn't like other dogs; can he still come to camp?
Not all dogs play nicely with others. It may be fear, unpleasant associations, chronic pain or a behavioral problem. We have found that these dogs are often more susceptible to stress in a boarding situation because they are living in close quarters and do not receive the exercise benefits of group play. To accommodate these campers, we offer individual play or exercise for an additional fee.

My dog is a fence climber; do you have facilities to keep him secure?
All of our perimeter fencing is 7' tall and buried 1' into the ground; interior fencing is 7' tall. Several of our potty runs are outfitted with overhangs to prevent climbing escapes. For expert climbers, we have both Patio Cabins and Bunks that are completely covered on top.
